You’ve made it to the airport, your bags have been checked, boarding pass issued, but now you’ve got hours to wait before getting on your plane, or even worse you have been delayed! What can you do to make the best of your time? Here I give you 6 top tips for killing time at the airport...
#1 Book yourself an Airport lounge Why not book yourself into an airport lounge, the costs are surprisingly good value? or make use of the ones on offer if you are a member of an airline frequent flyer scheme or travelling in business/first class? Airport lounges are a fantastic way of using up the lengthy wait time, with an array of facilities available (dependant on the Lounge/Airline) such as spa treatments, quiet areas to work, shower facilities, fitness centres, complimentary food, drinks, newspapers and more! There no reasons why your layover can't become the best part of travelling for business!. #2 Take a day trip If you find yourself on a long stopover, how about booking a day trip in the local city your airport resides? Sometimes these day trips will be offered by the airline you are travelling with or may be on offer upon arrival into the airport. Visiting the local city is a great way to get some “Bleisure” time including sightseeing, before getting ready to get back on board the aircraft. Just make sure there are not any passport or visa stipulations at the stop over point - something we or the airline can guide you with. #3 Retail therapy Airports are becoming more and more like shopping malls everyday! Alongside the duty free shopping road warriors are used to, high street retailers are popping up in airports worldwide. This is a fantastic opportunity to get yourself some tax-free goods to treat yourself or a loved one. Some of the best airports include Dubai, Singapore and even our own departure airports such as Heathrow and Manchester. #4 Catch up on some sleep! Being a corporate traveller has its many benefits but it's not all glamorous, travelling IS tiring! Airports are catering for this, with many now offering air side hotels and rooms within the terminals themselves, or sleeping pods which can be hired by the hour. This is wonderful way to catch up on that much-needed rest to avoid the dreaded Jet lag when you have a long wait. There's no need to worrying about your luggage either! #5 Dine out Gone are the days when all you can find at the airport are fast food retailers. Airports worldwide now have an array of restaurants offering meal choices catering to all appetites and culinary desires. From local cuisines to far flung dishes, why not tuck into some delicious food and give your taste buds a treat! With many airlines not including food or reducing their in flight catering, the airport offerings have stepped up to fill the gap. #6 Plane spot! For those avid aviation fans, the airport is a perfect place to spot a vast amount of aircraft. Grab a coffee, find yourself a comfy spot by the window and watch the hours and planes fly by. by By Danielle Martinez Source: http://bit.ly/2BQJKcH
